From Chairmans's Desk |
| The old order changeth, yielding place to new

True to its nature, Mumbai is rising like a phoenix
and business is buzzing once again. Many
businesses are closely interwoven with IT, and
disasters like the July deluge can badly affect IT
systems and consequently the business as well.
Several companies that had disaster recovery (DR)
and business continuity planning (BCP) systems in
place were able to continue operations despite the
disruptions, but many others that were unprepared
came to a standstill. Even though DR and BCP have
been very frequently discussed topics since the Y2K
days and more focused ever since the 9/11 incident,
the Mumbai Deluge has made some sit up and review
their preparedness. CSI Mumbai Chapter, having
recognised the need to catalyse knowledge sharing in
this area, will plan and provide channels for
productive interactions. |
It is a proud privilege for me to have been chosen
as the Chairman of CSI Mumbai Chapter. At the same
it is quite a daunting prospect to have to measure up
to the high standards set by V L Mehta and his team,
who have handed over the reins to me. On behalf of
the Managing Committee and myself, I promise that
we will put in all efforts to make CSI Mumbai Chapter
an even more vibrant and active group than ever
before!
