The Annual General Body Meeting of the Mumbai Chapter of Computer of Society of India was held on 31st July 2010 at Hotel Rangasharda, Bandra.

The meeting was convened at 5.00 pm and was adjourned by half an hour for want of quorum to 5.30pm as per the byelaws.

The meeting was conducted by Dr. Vishnu Kanhere, Chairman of the Chapter.

The Chairman welcomed the members present and requested the Hon. Secretary Mr. Ravikiran Mankikar to present the activities conducted by the chapter during the year 2009-10.

Thereafter the auditor’s report given by M/s P C Shah & Co., CAs and audited income and expenditure account for the year ended 31.3.2010 and the Balance Sheet as at 31.3.2010 were presented before the AGM.

After replying to members’ queries on the accounts and on the activities, the resolution was put to vote.

The audited accounts of IT 2020, and the Mumbai Chapter were unanimously approved and adopted by the members.

It was unanimously resolved that being eligible M/s P C Shah & Co. C. A.s were appointed as auditors for the forth coming year 2010-11.

Thereafter the floor was opened to members for their suggestions and sharing of thoughts. Constructive suggestions pertaining to growth of membership and new programs were received and noted for action.

There being no other business the meeting was completed with a vote of thanks to the chair.

The meeting was followed by a members’ get together which was addressed by Dr. S. P. Mudur Professor and Chair, Computer Science and Software Engineering, Concordia University (Ex – Director NCST). Dr. S. P. Mudur spoke on “Machine Learning Application in Computer Games. Dr. Debashis Sanyal Dean, School of Business Management, NMIMS University, the guest of honor, addressed the members on “Bridge to Future : Connect your strategies in an interconnected world” . Mr. M D Agrawal then Vice President of CSI, shared his thoughts on the way forward for CSI and presented highlights and plans of forth coming CSI – 2010 annual convention hosted by the chapter. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Rajiv Gerela, past chairman of the chapter.

The members then enjoyed networking over cocktails and dinner.
