This month I have given the draft National Policy on IT presented by the HRD Minister Mr Kapil Sibal on 7th October, 2011. India’s IT Policy 2011 assures 28 million new jobs. The new policy is expected to fortify the regulatory and security framework to enable a secure cyberspace ecosystem. The draft policy document aims at leveraging ICT to transform India.

The draft policy reproduced below, is accessible on the website of the Department of Information Technology, inviting comments and suggestions. “If you have useful comments, suggestions, ideas or wish to contribute your thoughts and views about the policy, kindly send an email to Dr. Vishnu Kanhere, Hon. Chairman, CSI-Mumbai Chapter, Convener of the interest group on information security. We will compile these views and convey them to the Ministry by making a representation.
